This grueling 7k bike starts at the historic 1927 Lake Lure Inn and Spa and meanders uphill at a 7% grade through the entrance of Chimney Rock State Park to finish just below the 315-foot tall Chimney Rock. It is the ONLY TIME in the year that anyone can bike or run up to Chimney Rock. Cash prizes will be awarded. This is the final event in a weekend of festivities and competition dubbed the Hickory Nut Gorge Olympiad.
